Trouble for Southwest

Filed under: Main Blog,Travel News — alena @ 12:01 am

Southwest

Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration announced plans to seek a $10.2 million civil penalty case against Southwest Airlines for flying “unsafe” planes. At least 117 of their airliners have been flying, some for more than 30 months, without completing mandatory safety checks. Meanwhile, the FAA is also taking heat for allowing the violations to go on so long.

Southwest has 30 days to respond to the allegations but so far has made no comment. The airline has never had a major crash.

  1. I have a flight coming up 4/30/08. I hope that there will be no problem such as grounding or cancelation of flight. I have always had great flights and outstanding service on Southwest Air Lines and look forward to many more.My wife and I are going to Yakima, Wa. to see our newest grandson for the first time.
